Noodle Bar

For Greeks, Asia is a distant and unknown land. Strange people, strange accents, strange ingredients. It is true though that the spread of the asian way of cooking gave fusion cuisine a new breeze.

Western Europe was more a fertile ground for the fusion food to flourish. Firstly they had colonies which made them familiar with both the material of the food, as well as the people eating it. For thousands of people, it was not an exotic habit but a living reality, the contact with another culture. Another factor leading up to that was the immigration wave back to the previous “occupiers” as well as the lack of a strong culinary tradition. It is not accidental that the Mediterranean colonists, even though they were influenced from their conquests, they were never shaped by them.

So how much time would a poly-asiatic restaurant need in order to arrive? Not too long! Modern design, awesome view, as somebody would expect from a city with over 20 years of continuous tourist presence and reasonable prices. Now about the food...

We ordered shrimp chips, salad with fruits and vegetable, tom yum, chinese rise, nasi goreng, satay sticks and ice cream sorbee'. The satay chicken, with peanut sauce together with the pine-apple milk tom yum soup were the highlights of the evening. I was expecting something extra from the sorbee ice-cream, but it was not my fault since the other food was unusual.

The strong points include the quick chef, the friendly stuff and the good price, while the negative stuff include the small portions. Definitely a place worth checking out!
